Mastercard and boAt have partnered to bring contactless payment to Indian smartwatches. Mastercard cardholders can now use their boAt smartwatches to make payments of up to Rs 5,000 without needing a PIN. This feature will be available to cardholders from select banks initially, with plans to expand to more banks in the future. The partnership comes as the Indian wearables market continues to grow rapidly, with smartwatch shipments increasing by 73.7% in 2023.
